This flat weave Turkish kilim rug is made of 60 percent cotton and 40 percent goat hair. Cotton and wool were mixed together and spun by hand to get yarn. The color of cotton is white and the color of goat hair is dark brown. When they are mixed together, they seem gray. That is why we call them gray rugs. Gray rugs were made by Toros mountain tribes in the south of Turkey. The colors and materials of gray rugs are natural, so there are no synthetic materials. The gray rugs are a little stiff because of goat hair. I recommend my customers take off their shoes and socks to walk on the rugs because they will feel meditated due to gray kilims' nature.
